The beach of the Pointe du Banc de Saint Germain de l'Ay is one of the beautiful wild beaches of the English Channel. Located on a site protected by the coastal conservatory, a stone's throw from the haven of Lessay, this vast sandy beach ends at the mouth of the Ay. To the north, the beach extends for several kilometres to the city centre.

Two zones can be seen on this beach. The main area at the parking lot is very family-friendly. It is easily accessed after crossing a dune (placed with stairs). The southern part (about 150 metres – less than 10 minutes' walk) is reserved for naturists (the area is well indicated). It is the only beach in the department of the English Channel where naturism is allowed.

It should be noted that the sea is retreating far at low tide.

To get to this beach from the centre of Saint Germain de l’Ay join the Avenue de la Pointe du Banc. Follow the road for 1.5 km. It ends with a (well-maintained) runway with a parking lot at the end.
