VRIJ is a naturist association whose aim is to create opportunities to experience naturism for its members and members of sister associations as well as to propagate this objective.

By naturism we mean:
- reintegration of nature and naturalness in human life, involving the naked body
is considered an integral part;
- A casual nude recreation in sun, air and / or water together with others in mutual respect towards everyone.
- stimulating mental and physical health;
- striving for the protection of nature in its natural form.

Some believe that 'naturism' means that you live sustainably and with a lot of attention for nature, and that 'nudism' means simply being naked. There are also people who do not recognize themselves in both terms. They talk about 'walking naked', or even more briefly about 'going to the nude beach and the bare-butt camping'.

VRIJ's association site is "de Vrijgaard", a site near Zeewolde with approximately 75 places and 15 guest places (including 5 camper places) and is located on five hectares of nature reserve.
